S. J. Ferrandi, in addition to being a father, poet and educator, is a full time commercial real estate broker and land developer currently living in the Maryland suburbs. After five years of studying to be a Catholic priest under the Redemptorists Fathers, where he had planned on running an orphanage, he left the seminary and entered Towson State University where he earned his degree in journalism. He spent five years as a magazine reporter before joining his family’s construction company that specialized in restoring houses of worship throughout the mid-Atlantic area. He rose through the ranks from sales into management until he assumed the position of president. In 1997, upon the retirement of his father, it was decided the family construction company was to be sold and S. J. decided to pursue a dream of becoming a residential land developer. He earned a Masters of Science degree in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University, where he is currently a member of their practitioner faculty.

Today, he is a principal with one of the mid-Atlantic region’s most respected commercial real estate brokerage firms where he specializes in land brokerage and the sale of houses of worship.

He is the father of two sons, Jacob and Julian, who he hopes will continue to love words as much as he does.

He enjoys writing many of his poems in a feminine voice since, as he explains, a change of voice allows the poet to approach the subject matter with a completely new prospective. His work is regularly found in print and on-line literary journals published throughout North America.

S. J. welcomes the opportunity to read his poems in public performances throughout the nation. If you wish to invite S. J. to read his works to your group or organization, please contact the publisher.
